Why was Hurricane Ian a "bad" Hurricane

Hurricane Ian was the fifth strongest storm to make landfall in the U.S. It was a large destructive hurricane that hit western Cuba and southern U.S. on 28th September 2022. The catagory 4 hurricane claimed more than 430 lives and some estimates have calculated the damage at $55bn.
